YOUSFLASH - www.yousflash.co.uk

Local news captured by local people. Just send in your pictures off your mobile, i-pad, tablet or computer so that we can show the rest of our region what you witnessed.

Keep your community informed of what is going on here and now and being recorded by you. Genres from celebrities to incidents, or motoring to extreme weather, you choose what to shoot and what to say.

Avarest Cafe - www.whitefriargate.co.uk

I started a project in September 2012 based on the Rejuvenation of Whitefriargate as seen below. After a vast amount of interest I decided it was time to focus on one main local interest, a cafe but a Pop Up one ran by Hull College students from various subject areas.

Students will gain valuable work experience from working at the Pop Up cafe that will be based down the street at The YMCA Charity Shop for two to three weeks in June time 2015.

Whitefriargate Campaign
- www.whitefriargate.co.uk

As a journalism student I carried out some research for a project and came across the failed Mary Portas bid to access £100,000 to rejuvenate Whitefriargate.

As my Degree is in digital media journalism and one of the topics I have investigated is crowd sourcing I thought it would be a good idea to put a social media campaign together.

The campaign has already raised the profile of Whitefriargate by having interviews on Radio Humberside, columns in the Hull Daily Mail, meetings with Hull City Council and Hull Bid.

The views that my audience have expressed so far have been passed on to my interviewers and many comments have been noted.

There have been some good ideas and I would like to see a lot more. My hope is that I can carry on expanding the project and actually get involved in the regeneration myself.

Just a sample of my work. To see more or discuss possible work >>

Olympics 2012 Media Team Trip

In my first year of my Degree myself and four other students had the chance to go to the 2012 Olympics for three days to report on the atmosphere and excitment.

Unfotunately the person who offered us the oppertunity left his job and we beleived it wasn't going to happen.

I decided to take on the task of organising this amazing oppertunity myself, three weeks later I had organised a trip for the five of us with only a budget of a thousand pounds.

Dermulin was a project in my second year of my degree, the brief was to find a client and create a short video to advertise a product.

I filmed this at Hull University in the Chemistry Department to promote their new product, "DERMULIN".

The product was so knew they hadnt thought of packaging so i designed and created one for them.

Group Project - STAND

STAND is a local charity that supports Hull's Fishing Heritage. Myself and seven other students took part in helping the charity create a video that would help raise awerness and money to errect a statue, to commemorate all the trawlermen who lost their lifes at sea.

The video was then taken to The House of Parliment and presentented to a number of MP's from Hull, East Yorkshire and London.
